the job The Senior Production Manager-Packagingwill lead the purchasing activities for multiple jobs and substrates for an INWK account based in Baltimore, MD.This position will be located at the client site and work directly with the Clients teams, as well as the InnerWorkings packaging solution team, packaging graphic and structural design team, business development, account management, and external suppliers to ensure packaging projects are evaluated, purchased and executed in a way that ensures quality, innovation, on time delivery, and competitive pricing. responsibilities Manage all aspects of production with vendors on behalf of the client, conferring with vendors concerning delivery timetables and maintaining current status of assigned projects at all times. Participate in client meetings to discuss new packaging projects and other updates as needed Lead the discovery and interpretation of client\u2019s new packaging projects and work with internal and external resources to turn that into customer ideation and proposals Effectively partner with client and supplier teams to ideate, explore, and deliver innovation and value improvement ideas in the existing packaging supply chain Manage the development, communication, and execution of the agreed on client packaging sourcing plan, including all sourcing activities Effectively integrate packaging supply chain into client\u2019s external manufacturing network Conduct varied analyses of customer sourcing activities in an effort to optimize overall supply chain costs such as packaging design and use, warehousing, inventory, and transportation spend. Continually investigate and develop a robust supplier network in order to meet varied customer needs and deliver the latest in technical and manufacturing advances. Effectively manage suppliers through common Supplier Relationship Management techniques, including knowledge of manufacturing limitations and facilities, ongoing performance, schedule availability, tracking & reporting, among others. Completion of contract documentation and related business transaction materials to adequately protect continuity of underlying supply and financial metrics. Properly detail and manage the specifications for the account to ensure all client requirements and quality expectations are met Effectively prioritize and manage varied and changing projects and the communication of progress to key internal and client stakeholders Deliver client work on budget, on time, and with the highest level of accuracy, service and quality Manage cross-functional communication channels to ensure smooth workflow. Conduct all other standard activities of a client onsite role requirements 5-8 years of print production experience. Detailed track record of successful print purchasing experience in a manufacturing, client, or agency environment. Proven project management skills. Experience working with suppliers and vendors to negotiate job costs and schedules. Highly proficient with MS Office software, especially Excel. Entrepreneurial minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and succeed. Experience excelling within fast paced, high energy environments.
