Web Press Operator
Kelly Services has a great DIRECT HIRE opportunity for a Web Press Operator working with an established Book Binding Company here in the Ann Arbor area.
Pay rate $15.15 an hour
This is a supervisor position with the opportunity to grow and develop
Operator utilizes her/his own knowledge to set-up, operate, and maintain a Web Press, to produce printed, folded, and bundled book sections used in book manufacturing, meeting both Malloy's and the customer's quality requirements and specifications. The Web Press Operator has the full knowledge of a Press Assistant and can perform all of the work listed under that job description, with normal supervision and guidance. The set-up and operation of the press is accomplished by reviewing the Malloy job order for specifications or any special instructions from the customer, and thereafter following routine procedures and supervisory instructions to produce the printed sheets required. Responsible for meeting both quality and quantity requirements.
Setting-up the press which includes the splicer, the feeder section, the printing units, the dryer section, the chill roller section, the folder section, and the stacker and palletizer equipment.
Inspecting and checking the folded press sections to assure they meet the quality requirements
Cooperativeness- Willing to take direction from supervisors and, when appropriate, go along with coworkers- way of doing things. Willing to follow rules.

Conscientiousness- Strictly adheres to all company policies and procedures, complies with safety regulations.
Reliability- Great Attendance is required for this position

On the job Operator training until the Operator can achieve production and quality requirements with minimal supervision
While performing Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this job, the employee regularly works near moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees in this position may be advised or required to utilize personal protective equipment including but not limited to: ear protection, foot protection, eye protection, lifting equipment, protective smocks. Employees in this position are regularly exposed to ink and chemical fumes and airborne partials such as paper dust and drying powder. Employees in this position work in a fast paced environment subject to numerous schedule and priority changes with short notice.
