As a member of the Apparel Design team your role serves as the bridge between Design and Development ensuring that our print and graphic work is executed to our standards, on-time, and within our targeted pricing. You will work with the Design, Material, Development and factory teams to support the execution and commercialization of our graphic and print product across our in-line, SMU and Elite Athlete products.
Help to build tech packs for all prints and graphics for in-line and SMU projects
Choosing pantone colors for printing, providing mock up cads on appropriate styles, printing and scaling artworks
Keeping an updated visual library of up to date prints and graphics
Help to color or change printed artwork headers
Support the business by preparing and sending out artwork packets to suppliers including reviewing and submiting all print artwork to assigned mill and/or printer, providing guidance on print feasibility, methods & execution and partnering with Design on approval for print artwork, strike offs and related ground lab dips as needed
Work with Color Design and Color Execution to ensure that the proper print ground color is executed per print colorway
Maintain and leverage industry knowledge of print processes, dye and ink type. Ensure that the correct print technique is executed for the correct material type, as in wet print on nylon and sublimation print on polyester
Key liaison between design, print house and Taiwan team to ensure consistent color and quality standards are met and delivered to our production partners
Ensure prints are executed in the proper direction and size for the type of material (stretch direction and/or cutting direction) and garment/bra placement
Communicate clearly and in detailed format approvals, corrections, additions and drops of all colorway for the season
Assess and approve all printed and art related strike-offs, for color, layout and printing technique
Review printing issues within division, making recommendations to achieve successful execution 
Work with Colorist to ensure execution of ‘critical color match’ between prints and dyed materials/trims on garments
Maintain accurate print communicate records by utilizing FlexPLM and excel spreadsheets. Organize and keep an up to date print spreadsheet including materials and styles
Manage development and production timelines for all artworks and insure deadlines are met
Maintain production artwork files so they are organized, updated, and easily accessible
Partner with Development and Production to ensure the accuracy of prints and print grounds in “Specification Packages” and “Buy Ready” documents
Identify new print techniques to materials team to action testing
Partner with Material Development on the testing of materials and or techniques relevant to print technique, such as bonding and garment wash test that require coordinating garment fabrications and/or sewing construction methods
Communicate with Design and Merchandising to ensure that techniques are communicated transparently to Materials so that testing can be executed prior to production
Communicate initial print price estimates to Materials Team to insure IMU objectives are met throughout the season
Degree in Design or Product Development preferred
2 years experience in textile print development or production
Technical expertise in textile print execution
Expert knowledge in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop are unequivocally necessary
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication
Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company
Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all of the pieces fit together and affect one another
Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products or other departments' operations and/or morale; connecting the dots
Demonstration of innovation and initiative - always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help out wherever necessary
A passion for the running enthusiast and active lifestyle
Ability to understand and empathize with the runner in order to develop loyal, engaging relationships with our customers and the Brooks community
