Position Overview:
The Flexographic Print Facilitator is a key supervisory position within the production department, responsible for the overall quality and efficiency of flexographic jobs. This role requires not only technical expertise in all aspects of flexographic printing, but also a strong sense of urgency, a desire for continuous improvement and a relentless pursuit of excellence in oneself and within the team. The Floor Supervisor is a coach, leader and mentor to the other Press Operators and to Press Support. As such, the Floor Supervisor will interact continuously with the Account Managers, Shipping, Quality Control and Senior Management to delivery best in class quality and service for our customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Play a pro-active role in machine maintenance and inventory, ensuring equipment is in a state of excellent repair and all materials required are available to fulfill orders
Play a proactive, lead role in evaluating, training and coaching staff, including participating in hiring, evaluation and disciplinary process, developing short and longer term training plans and ensuring cross training is taking place throughout the department
Ensure Press Support staff are trained and being utilized effectively, decreasing make-ready time and increasing productivity
Operate press(s) following make-ready and run procedures while striving to meet or improve on estimated run times and waste allowances while maintaining quality standards
Run Press(es) as needed and cross-train on other presses as directed/scheduled by the Production Manager
Train press operators, including training documentation, evaluation and sign off, and assist as needed with troubleshooting
Approve (sign-off) on jobs for production and adjust flexo job specs as needed on tickets
Oversee and orchestrate all flexo press support for maximum efficiency, including coordinating and utilizing Press Support personnel to meet scheduling needs, adhering to make-ready and run procedures and ensuring the team is functioning as a team
Continuously monitor quality of product being produced and before order is pulled from press, ensure perfect samples have been retained
Complete paperwork accurately and entirely
Communicate shift-change instructions (if applicable)
Communicate to Production Manager immediately of any material shortages, defective material/components, mechanical issues, excess spoilage, or incomplete job information
Advise QC of any quality issues with flexo printed labels prior to rewinding labels – including documenting a report as needed
Maintain clean work area and equipment on a daily basis
Monitor pressroom supplies for assigned equipment and work area; notify Production Manager of low inventory of supplies
Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual preventative maintenance of all equipment is completed
Prepare any and all flexo die retool/replacement, replacement paperwork and order flexo press/maintenance supplies as needed and approved by management
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in management, business administration or a related field of study from an accredited institution
Flexo press and management: 5 years
