Set up and operate various types of drill presses with or without tape control to perform routine and standard drilling and related operations on diversified regular production and semi-production parts, using specified jigs, fixtures, and tools and other standard holding devices and attachments.
Work from operation sheets, basic drawings, prescribed procedures, and other oral or written instructions to set up and operate regular and tape controlled single and multiple spindle and turret drill presses and less complicated special purpose machines characteristically related or adapted to drilling type operations.
Obtain, install and locate specified jigs, fixtures and other holding devices, adjust table or spindle head for operating clearance and set specified speeds, feeds and stops.
On tape controlled machines, install tapes, indicate table for parallelism and correct fixture location and dry run to check hole and other locations, tape, and table travel.
Drill straight through and angular and blind holes, ream, tap, counter bore, backface, hone, and perform other related operations on regular production and semi production parts requiring application of normal dexterity and skill and adherence to close tolerances.
Maintain quality standards by checking work visually and with basic measuring instruments; record data manually or electronically as required.
Perform other related work of a comparable or lower skill level, including deburring, polishing, and part marking.
Refer questionable conditions or recurring difficulties to working leader or supervision.
Perform operator checklist as required and comply with all EHu0026S procedures.
As required segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.
