Were seeking a WordPress web developer
who has extensive experience building and managing WordPress websites to join our team.
This position will work closely with the marketing team and across other functions to develop and build delightful user experiences. You must be current on web technologies and standards. You work with a sense of urgency and thrive in a fast paced, mission-driven environment.
This role is located in Redwood City, California. It is a contractor position with full time potential. May consider strong remote candidates in PT time zone, with periodic travel to RWC office.
Building a custom WordPress theme and developing page templates
Specifying theme enhancements and either perform theme updates or manage theme development to support cutting-edge designs and UX
Setting up a WordPress staging site for QA, code review and design execution
Implementing new responsive-design pages and new page content for a rapidly evolving website and in particular to support product launches, promotions and integrated digital campaigns
Reviewing site maps, wireframes and design documents for technical feasibility
Monitoring and improving page load speed, addressing crawl errors and managing page updates
Managing new and existing technology integrations to support the website and digital marketing initiatives
Ensuring a consistent visitor experience, free of errors and interruptions
Contributing to strategic planning and setting objectives
Skills & Experience Required:
Experience with migration of WordPress websites to new templates and new versions
Experience building WordPress themes/plugins
Complete understanding of the WordPress core software and its functions at the code level
Basic knowledge of contemporary SEO techniques and how it relates to web development
Understanding of basic UX principles and what makes a great user experience
Experience in building Single Page Applications
Full-Stack Development; System Integration; API Integration
Experience with responsive design websites, localization and personalization
Ability to effectively collaborate across marketing functions
Basic proficiency in Adobe Photoshop/Sketch
Experience in a modern frontend framework (Angular, React, Vue) (nice to have)
Experience managing a Content Delivery Network (nice to have)
Experience working with Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google Tag Manager (nice to have)
Must be able to show an up-to-date portfolio
